Biography
Malika Richards is a professor of management at Penn State Berks. She obtained the Ph.D. in International Business and Strategic Management from the Kelley School of Business, Indiana University.
Prior to graduate studies, she studied in Japan and Taiwan, and worked in Thailand for five years. In 2010, she was a Fulbright scholar at Soochow University, Taiwan. Subsequently, she was invited back to Soochow University three times as a visiting professor, where she ranked among the top 10 percent in teaching evaluations. In 2013, Richards was a visiting professor at National Chengchi University, Taiwan.
Richards' research interests are the impact of culture on international management and multinational firm strategy. Her research has been published in journals such as the Journal of International Management, International Business Review, and the Journal of International Business Studies. Malika has served several years in the role of treasurer to the international management division of the Academy of Management. This is one of the largest divisions in the Academy. In 2015, she was elected vice president of the Women in the Academy of International Business (WAIB). From 2017-19, she served as President of WAIB.
